We at First Ascent are celebrating our 20th year of guiding at Smith Rock in 2012. Our guides are seasoned experts in the field. They are encouraged to pursue certification in the AMGA Rock program and are required in house training and have current Wilderness First Responder certifications. Our guide service has enjoyed a flawless safety record due to our high standards.

A group of international master's degree students from Portland State University. First Ascent has worked with Wanderlust Tours of Bend to facilitate this climbing experience since 1996.
