Dustin is new this year with First Ascent. He is an assistant guide with a great deal of potential and enthusiasm.
He is originally from Portland but is currently living in Corvallis, OR. He is a student at Oregon State University where he is majoring in Nutrition and Exercise Sports Science, pre-physical therapy. He also works for the Oregon State University Indoor climbing center as well as leading climbing and surfing trips for the Department of Recreational Sports at the university.
Dustin has loved the outdoors since he was a child. He grew up skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and much more. He is passionate about climbing and is always trying to learn something new.

He says that his goal as an assistant guide this summer is to "help to provide unique and exciting climbing experiences for our clients at Smith Rock."
Dustin's skills include a proficiency in American Sign Language. His hobbies are downhill skiing, snowboarding, soccer, tennis, mountain biking, backpacking, ballroom dancing and camping.
